Early Outreach Initiatives In partnership with Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, community-based organizations, and Charter Schools, the CHANCE Program (TCP) provides real-world preparation through our Success Series Model that promotes student learning and development, persistence, and the road to college entry. TCP recruitment programming is designed to recruit qualified high school students and provide information about the UIC admission and enrollment process. Prospective applicants benefit from customized programming that addresses: 'How to apply for College', 'How to select a major', 'Understanding the financial aid process', and 'Scholarship opportunities'. Students are also afforded the CHANCE to visit the UIC Campus, experience a housing tour, and discuss issues concerning academic preparation, study habits, and motivation and coping strategies. TCP early outreach initiatives in collaboration with internal and external partners will prepare high school students for the transition to college. Services include, but are not limited to: access and instruction from UIC Faculty in English and Math, sample college placement exams, overnight dormitory visits, cultural enrichment opportunities, service learning projects, health and wellness activities, and various professional development and leadership workshops.
