The CHANCE Program
University of Illinois at Chicago
1200 West Harrison – MC113

As lead Administrator of the University of Illinois at Chicago’s CHANCE Program I continue to be impressed and inspired by the academic performance and leadership demonstrated by CHANCE Scholars. This past year over twenty CHANCE scholars were featured on the Dean’s list, three scholars received the Chancellor’s Student Service and Leadership award, and one scholar attended the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. It is because of these types of achievements that I feel my work is both rewarding and justified.
Since our inception, the CHANCE Program has developed many internal and external partners, as collectively, we collaborate in order to meet the needs and preparation of our 21st century future leaders. Our mission to assist the University of Illinois at Chicago with its goal to recruit, retain and prepare students for lifelong learning skills is vital to our students’ appreciation of mankind, and success after graduation.
Under my leadership as the Director, it has been a joy to interact with our students on a daily basis. The success of the CHANCE Program can be attributed to student engagement and strong dialog between the participants, administrators and our partnerships. In order to remain relevant and useful, we must adhere to the needs of our students and stay “in tune and in touch.” On the personal side, I enjoy snowboarding, traveling and also have completed two Chicago Marathons and several half-marathons. I am a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Thank you for visiting our website, please feel free to contact us regarding any questions or comments.
