Khalilah Young

Academic Coordinator

As Academic Coordinator for the CHANCE Program, I have the opportunity to engage with each and every CHANCE Student who participates in our program. It is indeed an honor to meet and greet each student as I assist them with their personal goals to fulfill their college completion requirements. On a personal note, I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Illinois State University, Bloomington, Illinois. The mindset of our students is that they want to excel, as well as give back to their communities in some shape, form or fashion.

The CHANCE Program offers our participants far more than tutoring and workshops; we also offer access to a “living and learning environment aimed to prepare our students for real-life settings beyond college”. With the goal to help our scholars develop their cultural enrichment experiences that affords them access to lifelong networking relationships and much more; the CHANCE Program strives to develop our future leaders to take their rightful place in society. In my personal life I enjoy reading, journaling and spending time with my family.
