Throughout the school year, the CHANCE Program engages with several high school districts and various campus and community partners to introduce high school seniors to the “world of college.” Our collective efforts aim to expose students to various Pre-College Programming on our university campus and affords students an opportunity to be inspired and challenged by expert faculty who will introduce students to college-level learning.

During the summer months, we are pleased to host and partner with other organizations/departments on several Pre-College Programs (STEM Academy, Future Leaders in Health, and Digital Scholars). These programs are provided to our communities free of charge, yet space is limited to a first-come, first served basis. Preference is given to traditionally underrepresented students from the Chicagoland Area.

Through these programs, our goal is to prepare INCOMING UIC STUDENTS for success by allowing them the opportunity to experience college-level academics and immerse themselves in their course of study.

Location and COVID-19 Protocol
PLEASE NOTE: Each CHANCE Summer Program (STEM Academy, Future Leaders in Health, and Digital Scholars) will take place on UIC’s East Campus and will follow University, City of Chicago and State of Illinois policies and guidelines regarding campus visit programs during COVID-19, which may include submitting proof of vaccination and/or participating in weekly on campus saliva based PCR testing. In the event that the program cannot be delivered in person, the program will transition to a virtual platform.
